Mark Smith: Putting Henderson County First
With the retirement of Judge McKinney, conservative attorney and rancher Mark Smith is running to keep taxes low, protect families, and defend our way of life.
Raised in Athens, Mark learned the value of hard work and service to others from his father, a doctor, and mother, a member of the Medical Auxiliary. After graduating from Athens High, Mark attended UT Law and began a successful career in law. Mark now ranches the same land his family has had for more than 75 years.
As our next County Judge, Mark will bring common-sense conservative principles to the courthouse, working to eliminate wasteful spending, reduce property taxes, ensure law enforcement has the tools they need to keep families safe, and manage growth to protect our way of life for generations to come.
Mark has been dedicated to serving our community on the boards of UT Health, East Texas Community Clinic, and the Henderson County Hospital Authority. And Mark is an Elder at his Church where he also sings in the Choir.
